Honeywell provision 8000 installation help
I'm trying to install a new VisionPro 8000 but not sure what setting 0701 should be. I have Trane gas furnace and xl13i HP. I have selected 1 heat / 1 cool conventional but it seems there's no delay when swicthing from heat to cool or vise versa making worry it might damage the condenser. I tried to select 2 1 heat/ 1 cool heat pump and seemed both a/c and heat where running at the same time.
Wiring is only 4 wires.

There are lots of Vision Pro models usually beginning with TH8??
What model do you have?
With only 4 wires, it has to be 1 stage heat/cool conventional.
The delay generally only applies to the outdoor unit and not the fan inside. That delay may be settable with another parameter.

That's what it set to now but I have taken it off automatic since there seems to be no delay switching from A/C to heat or vice of versa. Maybe this something I don't need to worry about.

There should be a separate setting for compressor delay, probably in the 300s of your programing

Yes, 0580 it's set for 5 minutes. It seems through when I change the thermostate to heat there is no delay for the switch.

Heat will have no delay as there is nothing on the furnace that requires a delay. The delay is to not short cycle the ac compressor.

Okay, I'm thinking it must be setup correctly. How would I go about testing the A/C delay time just to make sure?

When you turn from heat to cool, the stat will either say wait, or the cool on will be flashing instead of staying on solid. This will let you know if you have a delay, also the fan will not start till this delay goes off.

Meaning, only the outside unit will have a delay.
The delay is implemented in the following way.
If power fail, power must be restored for x min before outside unit will turn on.
OUTSIDE unit must be off for x min, before being allowed to turn on which covers the first statement.
Going directly from heat to cool isn't an issue.
