    Wiring a firnace
    Hi guys and gals

I have an 27 year old Johnson furnace that stops, looking for an answer I tried everything I could think of than I turned off the main (light) switch on the side of the furnace. I was amazed that after I did this the frunace came on and ran a few days than stopped again so I cycled the switch again. I must be resetting something but I am sure this will not last forever plus it a real pain not to mention pretty cold at times.

It's a simple system with a trnsformer and a relay on a plate over a connection box I am sure this is the area but I don't have any information as to how to trouble shoot this or even how to rewire the whole thing and just get a new one.

I would be grateful if someone know this stuff

I can't imagine what would be doing that. Maybe go back t the basics when it isn't running. Start at the transformer making sure you have 24 volts. Follow the power to the thermostat and back to the gas valve. The red wire should have power at all times, and the white when the thermostat is calling for heat. If it is wired through a limit switch, make sure it makes it back to the gas valve. If the gas valve has 24 volts and isn't open, it is the problem.
