If 30 days notice are given at the 1st of the month how long can I stay for
If I have given a 30 days notice on April 15th that I am terminating my tenancy on a month to month lease do I need to leave in 30 days exactly or on May 15th of the next month?

30 days exactly. Your land lord may give slight leway however I know in Mi, and probably in most other places as well, a 30 day notice means a 30 DAY notice. You need to have your stuff out 30 days from when you gave your notice.

Also all of your possesions need to be about but 11:59 p.m. on the 30th night. If you are not completely out by that point (in Michigan) you get forced out or to pay for the following month. Most of the time they will not prorate either.

We take pride in our answers on the legal board - please give your source for this information.

You do NOT have to be out 30 days from when you give notice. You can give notice on the 15th of March that you will be out the 1st of May. You have to give AT LEAST 30 days notice.

Again - please post your source when you are answering questions (incorrectly, by the way) on the legal boards.
