    Work pay credit
    Hello,

I had been on OPT since 11th Jan 2009 and on H1-B since October 1st 2009. I waited till 1st April 2010 to file my Tax return as I was told by a tax advisor then I can file the tax return as resident because I would have completed 181 days on h1-B visa. My first question is , would I be resident for 2009?? Second is, would I be getting work pay credit??

You can file joint return as residents. If you are not married, you can not file resident return.
On joint return, you will get Making Work Pay credit. File schedule M (Form 1040).
