    Sewage backup in basement sink
I have snaked it twice but within a week it begins to backup again. It's a city sewer and the house clean out is filled with water. The other thing is that there use to be a basement toilet that never worked very good and I took out not to long ago. Before I removed it would get really filthy(sewage) on the inside even when it hadn't been used. I appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Thanks.

the house clean out is filled with water.
This tells me that you still have a blockage between then clean out and the street. Most likely at the curb where you connect to the city raiser. This must ne snaked from the clean out all the way out to the street. If you bring roots back let me know. Good luck, Tom
