    Password protected/private profile on XP?
I have windows XP Pro and even though antivirus can't find any issues I am unable to log into any of the accounts, as soon as I click on any of 5 user names it starts to log in but then logs off and main screen, where you chose which account you want to log in appears

Main problem is that one of the accounts is password protected, files are private, and I need documents from that account.

I installed windows xp on new partition but when I go to c:\documents and settings\ that one account cannot be accessed, all other can.

How can I fix this so I can get files from that account?

    Thanks

This forum does not participate in circumventing security of any kind, so in this instance the answer is going to be "find the password".

Or, how can fix this issue so I can actually log into that account? Windows starts but when I click any user name it just starts logging in then says saving settings and logs me out

I've never seen that problem, so can't refer to it specifically.

A good first step is always to boot into SAFE MODE and see if you have better luck accessing the accounts.

    Sounds like corrupted profiles.
As JB says, log into Safe mode and the main Admin account and go from there.

Password protected folder in Win XP? [ 1 Answers ]

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to create password protected folders in Windows XP and what might those steps be? Currently, I am using MS Word and Excel password protected files, but I would much rather consolidate them into one password protected folder. Thanks in advance.
