    How to fix-HTTP: error 12007
Unable to connect to internet or do a system restore. Ran HTTP, HTTPS and FTP Diagnostic. Typical result- "warn HTTP: Error12007 connecting to www.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved." Connection Manager: "Unable to connect. Device missing. Have tried numerous suggestions found on the internet (using my laptop) to no avail. Deleted MSN Explorer from Remove/change programs. Did the samething with Windows Components. Deleted Temp. files. Accidentally deleted Connection Manager. Thought I was deleting MSN as the ?connection.
How do I reinstall Connection Manager (no cd)? How do I fix error 12007?
    Thanks, Dave

Sounds like a DNS issue. Can you ping yahoo.com? If your DNS isn't working problem, you won't be able to because it won't resolve the name. Check your tcp/ip settings to make sure you are set to auto for DNS settings.
