My 4 year old hasent pooped on the potty, she will pee. The pull-ups and the potty chart , the reward system, the gastro doc, her reg. peditrician all have told me that she is NOT CONSTIPATED it the only thing she can control? I'm in the medical field and not a recptionist, so this is very fustrating to me. When she was 3 I started with the pull ups and she would pee on the potty but the poop, was always in the pull ups.. daycare said no more pull ups and they would help me train her, ( @ 4yrs. Old) she is not trained. Now she is wearing her "big girl panties" and pooping in them. She knows when she goes because she aske me to change her. Lately I've been making her clean her self up and she hates it, but I make her do it. Its just getting to an annoying point, sept she starts kindergarten,, I need her to start going on the potty, please and advice or tips will be a hugh help.

You know, I am having kind of the same problem with my almost 3 year old, except she will poop in the potty, but still pee in her diapers.

She has been getting horrible diaper rashes, and she asks me why her bum hurts, and I told her it was because she was going potty in the diapers. I don't use pull ups, as I find them a waste of money when they still use the bathroom in them.

I am sure a lot of people will disagree with this, but it helped me. I let my daughter see me using the "big girl potty", and she seems to be learning by example. It's kind of funny, but I let her read my fashion magazines while she is on there, and she really cherishes that time.

Also I let her pick out her own big girl panties, she thought that was the best thing since sliced bread!

At first I thought it would help if I showed her that it made me sad when she pooped or peed in her diapers, but I quickly learned that just added more stress. I tell her now that accidents happen, but because she is such a big girl, she needs to be more careful. She seems to like the added sense of responsibility.
