    Burying electrical wiring
Running 100 feet of wiring for lighting lighting and outlets. I want to bury the wire underground. My question; I believe local code calls for 12-18 inches of depth, but do I have to go as deep if I use PVC?

Yes, PVC allows no less depth.

I would go with PVC in any case. Sch40 underground and Sch80 where it is exposed and subject to damage.
