Need to know what this tune is
It was a fairly slow (chilled dance) house track.
All I can remember is this, I heard it on an old tape recording, the tune played after it was Don't lose the magic by Shawn Christopher (to give an idea of the kind of tune it was - hopefully :0/.
The only words I can remember are, In the morning and the afternoon... and in the evening... (then something like) that's when I like it, oh you make me so...

It is a belting tune but I've only heard it the one time (about 1992 / 93) and can't remember any other words.
Any help would be very much appreciated xx

    Here are some possibilities:

#1 "Catch Me Daddy" (Big Brother & The Holding Company)

    Honey, I'm so alone.
Oh daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy.
    Alright now!!!
    Alright now!!!
    Baby!
    Baby!
Oh, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord!!! Yeah!

Hon, when I'm sittin' round late in the evening, child,
Wonderin' why, why, why did I ever leave,
Hey, babe I just gotta know now!
Yeah, I said I'm sitting 'round late in the evening, darling,
Wonderin', oh why did I ever leave,
Hey, come on come, come on come, come on.
Well, I went out searchin' for something, darling,
    Oh, now I see, yeah.
    Well alright, hey hey hey.

I guess I move just one too many time now,
Woke up darling, and found myself alone.
Whoa, well I guess I moved one too many times, babe,
Woke up an' found myself alone, yeah hey, yeah hey, yeah hey,
    Cold sheets made me realize
Catch me, daddy, 'cause I'm movin' on.
    Hey, hey, whoaaa !!!

Come on up, come on up, I've got to move on
Come on up, because I've got to go, daddy, daddy,
Whoa, 'cause I'll find my daddy,
I said now daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy,
Ah won't you tell me not so long ago
Well you don't need me, gotta, gotta,
I just got to know, hey
    And I'm searching,
Oh daddy, daddy, daddy, been searching now
Woh and I been searching babe,
Yeah hey, yeah hey, I got to know,
Oh yeah hey, yeah hey, yeah hey,
Oh yeah hey, yeah yeah yeah, come on
    Come on and catch me,
    Daddy, daddy, daddy, catch me,
Come on, come on and catch me,
    Alright, come on take me,
Won't you take it on down now
Oh take it on down now
    S-s-s-softer now,
    Hey a little softer babe.

You know, I want ya, need ya, I gotta have ya
'Cause I want ya need ya,I gotta have ya
'Cause this my-my-my-my-my-my-my-man now now now
    My-my-my-my-my-my-my-man yeah.
Said I want you I need you, babe I've gotta have you,
'Cause I want you I need you, whoa, gotta have you,
I've been lonely in the morning
I've been lonely in the night time.
I've been lonely oh, in the morning,
    Oh, in the afternoon,
    Oh, in the evening,
And babe I need it now,
I said I miss you, miss you,
Oh daddy you know I miss you
Yeah, yeah, you know I miss you
    Alright, comin' home now
Yeah hey hey, comin' home now
    Oh yeah, comin' home now
    Hey hey, comin' home now
    Alright, comin' home now
    Babe babe, comin' home now
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
    Ah yeah!!

Oh, I might take a plane, baby,
Oh, I may take a train, baby.
Now I guess I might finally walk in there,
Now I guess I might finally talk in there,
I gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta move on
    Oh hey! Yeah!
    Ooh! Alright!

I said I'm goin' on down to Brownsville
Gonna take, take, take your ride and roll,
Whoaaa, if you see me my baby, comin', oh, come on, oh yeah comin' home,
    Whoaa!

    #2 "Melancholia" (Van Morrison):

In the afternoon, baby in my room
When the lights are dim way beyond the hill
In the afternoon, baby in my room
When I'm really down get me off the ground
    Melancholia, melancholia, melancholia

In the morning time when I go outside
In the morning time it's like that all the while
In the afternoon when I'm in my room
Every single day, it won't go away
    Melancholia, melancholia, melancholia

And it's in my heart, when we're apart
And it stops and starts, and it's in my heart
Every single day it's always in my way
When I'm making hay, all I've got to say
    Melancholia, melancholia, melancholia

Well it's in my blood and it's in my veins
Here it comes again, when I'm in the rain
In the wind and rain, well the sun don't shine
Well it's always mine, all of the time
    Melancholia, melancholia, melancholia

And it's in my life and it's all the time
It doesn't go away when the church bells chime
In the evening time when I drink my wine
In the evening time when it's on my mind
    Melancholia, melancholia, melancholia

    It's only melancholia
Oh melancholia, oh melancholia, oh melancholia, oh melancholia
    Melancholia, melancholia
They call it, call it melancholia, call it melancholia, call it melancholia, call it melancholia
Call it melancholia, melancholia, melancholia, melancholia

#3 "Be Here In The Morning" (Beachboys)

It's been such a long day so you better hurry home
Lit all my incense and I wish you were home
Only five minutes and you walk through my door

    Be here in the morning
    Be here in the evening
Be here and make my life full

    Be here in the morning
    Be here in the evening
Be here and make my life

Stay here on the weekend and unplug the phone
    (Alright then)
No calls from Korthoff, Parks, or Grillo
I only hope that you come here alone

    Be here in the morning
    Be here in the evening
Be here and make my life full

    Be here in the morning
    Be here in the evening
Be here and make my life

    Be here in the morning
    Be here in the evening
Be here and make my life

#4 "I Know It's True But I'm Sorry To Say" (VIOLENT FEMMES)

I know its true but I'm sorry to say
    Yesterday's a day away
Nothing i can do to make it stay like that
    Ain't that a fact?

I know its true but i'm sorry to say
I just can't handle things this way
I know its late but id like to...stay a while
    see you smile

Will you need me in the morning?
With the sun fresh on the dew
Will you need me in the afternoon
Made just for me and you
Will you need me in the evening
When the nighttime starts to crawl
will you need me in the hall
Will need me on the wall?
Will you need me, at all?

One more time, one more time
Shaking up and down my spine
Jump a rope or skip a line or two
    What can I do?

One more time, one more time
    Colorflashing neo sign
    Advertising a friend of mine....distraction
    Latest attraction

Oh my body has been punished
Lord I think I've had enough
Oh my body has been punished
With too much and not enough
Oh my body has been punished
And my mind can no longer love
    My mind is so unkind
    My mind is so unkind
Keeps me crying all the time

I know its true but I'm sorry to say
    Yesterday's a day away

Hope one of those is the one you're looking for. If not let me know and I'll search some more.

I think this might be a song that I use to spin by Crystal Waters (Making Happy). It has a few remixes that were imported to the states in about the early 90s. Could this be the one? Hope so.

Hi thanks for the replys but it's none of these.
The words "in the morning and the afternoon, and in the evening thats when i like it" was a sentence in the song. It was a female vocal. I called it chilled house but the memory is a bit shadey, you might describe it as funky chilled house.

Please keep your ideas coming, this one has evaded me for ten long years now but I know someone out there knows this tune x
