My boyfriend is on probation for a deffered sentence on 2nd degree burglary. He got arrested for violation of probation. His probation officer filed for a application to accelerate. I was wanting to know what will he be sentenced to when he goes to court? Will he be on probabtion after his court is done? Can he do community service to work off the fines he owes?

    Hello girl:

It depends on what he did to violate his probation. If he just missed a meeting, he'll probably have to do a few days in jail. But, if he got arrested for a new burglary, he's going to do some time.

His probation is up in August and he is suppose to be paying his court fees and go to a 12 week class but he hasn't been able to due to financial problems. He has a job now but he only works a couple days a week and sometimes he doesn't work at all one week. He hasn't gotten in any trouble other than that.

    Hello again, girl:

Maybe they'll give him another chance. Maybe not.

If they don't give him another chance how long will he be in jail for. Someone that works at the jail he's at told him that he might have to stay there till his fees are paid off and that would only be a little over 2 months.

    Hello again, girl:

Not for two months. But, if they do, prison is MUCH better than jail, even if you have to travel further to see him.
