Changed from F1 to H1 in Oct 2009, how to fill questions 4a and 4b on 8843 form
Changed from F1 to H1 in October 2009 and have a question on how to fill form 8843.
I am aware that I should fill 1040NR-EZ and 8843 one last time this year. Is that correct?
Question 4a on form 8843 ask for how many days of presence in the US in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Question 4b asks for how many days of presence in 2009 can be excluded for the substantial presence test. I have been here since 2007. Therefore, I should fill 365 days in 2007, 2008 and 2009 for question 4a. And for question 4a, I should fill 305 days which is the number of days under F1. Is that correct?
Furthermore, if I do fill that way, is it clear that the days present in 2007 and 2008 are exempt for the substantial present test since I was under f1? Or should I just write 0 days in 2007 and 0 days in 2008? Could you please advice.
    Thank you in advance.
