    Helppp! I have no idea what this means...
    I'm reading an Anne of Cleves for my 11th grade research paper and don't know what this means...

    "Some theorists believe that there is a chemical element in sexual attraction; it may have been at work here, in both Henry and Anne; instant repudiation upon his side, placid acceptance of the situation on hers. Otherwise, for Anne was young when she came to England, she might have borne strong sons."

    It's a fancy way of saying there was an attraction that was instant. It's a way of explaining it.
