Ceiling in newly drywall basement peeling after priming and painting
Installed a new drywall in basement. Walls and ceilins. Primed the ceingfter with Royal primer manufacturer by Ace Hardware, next day painted with Benjamin Moore Super spec flat white ceiling paint. Today the celing is peeling like a cracked hard boiled agg in 8 different areas. Areas in size are 15 inched long to 6 inched wide. And other areas smallere. Called the hardware store and was told moisture in the air. The walls which we also painted with same primer and the Ben. Moore eggshell finish lokk fine so far. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks, Anne P

Did you wipe the dust off the ceiling with a damp tack cloth?

Did you do any surface prep like wash with TSP or scuff the surface lightly before the primer or before the final?

Make sure you didn't prime with an oil based primer. That's a disaster. There were many Ace Royal primers when I checked online. Some oil. Some latex. This will definitely cause the problem your experiencing. Latex over oil - disaster.

Did you adhere to the recommended drying time? This is another reason it can happen.
