My cultured marble panels are bowed from the wall. Can I bend them back?
My cultured marble panels are bowed from the wall in the shower. Can I bend them back? Does the panel need to be heated?

Cultured marble is a man made stone product. It does not bend, it breaks.
    Can you post a picture.

Well, I think I will disagree with Harold. Cultured will bend, marble bends too,. then at some point it breaks. Probably was installed with no expansion space at the perimeter.

I just removed a bowed cultured marble tub (shower wall) surround. I found the mastic used has all come loose, the only thing holding everything in place was the silicone around the edges. I am going to try and bend the panels with heat and pressure / weight. I stopped in a local marble manufacturer and he said I could try that before I purchased replacement panels. The price here Spanish Fort / Mobile , Alabama is $ 200.00 to $ 250.00 for a 5' x 5' panel. I will be using a forced air kerosene heater. I will post the results.

Good news / Bad news I was able to heat an end panel, lay it flat on the floor, place some weight on it and it flattened out. The bad news I broke one panel removing it and then the panel I saved slipped and chipped an edge. I have given up for now.

I have a cultured marble shower base without the usual 3/8" lip along the edges; it's just a flat surface. All of the information I've found so far for transitioning between the backer board and shower pan with a tile wall include the lip in the diagram. I'm wondering without the lip should the...
