how to fill out 1040x tax form for 2009 taxes and First-time homebuyers credit
I need to fill out a 1040X to amend my 2009 tax return for a First-time homebuyers credit for form 5405. Where do I put the amount of my refund from 5405 onto 1040x to get my refund? Also if there is any other info I might need to know.

If you're completing the F-1040X, revised Jan.2010, you'll use line 14. Refundable credits, and check the box labeled 5405, you'll see on that line. Remember any other refundable credits you can still claim will also be included on this line. Additionally, if this is the only correction, you are allowed to start on line 10 of that form.

My understanding is that the IRS may ask you for your HUD settlement statement, face page, I would send that in just in case as well.
