    Filing status with 1040 NR


    Following up to the response , I am a non resident alien, came on a visitor visa which expired and only got a tax identification number from the IRS. I came here in 2003 march

    If you have been in the U.S. continuously since March 2003, your non-resident alien status FOR SURE expired on 31 December 2007, so for 2009, you need to file as a resident alien, filing Form 1040, 1040A or (most likely) 1040EZ.
