    I would like to know the statute of limitations for a civil suite against a convicted sex offender (family)

    Being a convicted sex offender is a criminal matter, totally unrelated to any pending civil action against such sex offender. The statute of limitations depends on the laws of your particular state and the specifics of the civil mater in question.
