W2 from Insurance Co for Maternity Leave
    Hi,

I did get paid during my Maternity Leave by Insurance Co.
This send me a W2, which has Federal Wages & Withheld amount. For state NJ the amount is zero. In Box 13 its marked as "Third Party Sick Pay"

    My Questions:
    1. Since NJ line item mentioned in W2 is zero, does that mean that this amount is not taxable by NJ

    2. Is there any other benefit I would be getting? In other words this W2 from Insurance is just like any other W2 income. Will there be any other section / deduction which I can use.

Note that I am filing using Standard Deduction

    Thanks in advance

Report the w-2 income on your federal return and your state tax return. Its like a regular wage W-2.
