    Kenmore Washing Machine Model 110.26722690
    I have an ~1996 Kenmore washing machine. The motor coupling needs to be replaced, but prior to replacing it I noticed that the bottom agitator will not move in either direction. What do I need to do to trouble shoot this problem? Thanks for your help!

    Not sure what youo mean by not moving, but to remove the agitator you need to remove the softner dispenser and remove the bolt. You will more that likely have to give a good tug on it to get it to pull up.

    I should have written "bottom agitator will not rotate in either direction". Sorry for the confusion.

    I believe the brake is engaged if not calling for agitate cycle. Therefore, just sitting there the agitator will not move. I think what you have described is a normal condition. Someone correct me if this is not so.
