    Use Malibu 2000 on it about once a month or so. You can get it online, I believe, or go to a salon for treatments. Sally's also carries a similar product for well water.

    The term “hard” refers to the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions present in the water. When cleansing agents combine with the calcium and magnesium ions, it forms a film or buildup. If hard water leaves a residue on your hair, use an anti-residue shampoo or a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove the hard water buildup.
