    v-w=-5 v-2w=4
    v - w = -5 v - 2w = 4

    eq 1: v-w=-5v-2w
    simplifying: w=6v

    eq 2: 5v-2w=4
    then substituting 6v in for w
    5v-2(6v)=4
    -7v=4

    v=-4/7 and w=24/7
