Fuel pump fuse has no power at it. Could this be the ignition switch?
I got a 1992 Chevrolet 1500 with a 5.7l and the fuel pump isn't working. It has been sitting for about 5 years. I got a 12v test light and found out that the 20amp fuel pump fuse has no power on either side of the fuse. Could this be a ignition switch problem? The ignition switch is a little difficult to turn. You have to jiggle it then turn it back a click then it turns.

It can also be a relay. Get a good schematic and check both. You should be able to bypass the main line to activate the pump just to see if it runs. Just be very careful when working with anything bypassed.

You are on the right track.

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with your test light:

With the ignition switch turned to ON, remove and clean the contacts on any fuse that fails--corrosion can be a problem with under hood fuses, especially on trucks.

. Check the fuel pump relay, which is likely in the under hood fuse/relay box. Corrosion can also be a problem on relays.

I apply a light coating of dielectric grease to fuse and relay contacts.

. Check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable first.
