    Deducting Ph.D costs?
Hi, it seems we are going to sit with a problem and lots of money thrown to a Ph.D without being able to claim a sent in the US. I would like ANY advice to help make the cost less please.
I am working in the UK and my husband is doing a Ph.D online via an Arizona University. It seems that we are not going to have to pay tax in the US (as I have a foreign income only for this year) and for this reason would have no tax in the US to deduct the Ph.D costs from. The Ph.D is costing us $20,000.00 out of our pocket and I can't deduct the cost in the UK as initially thought.
My husband registered a company in the US last year, though it's not actively trading at the moment. We have no income in the US at the moment.
With this information, is there any way that we can get a tax break for this ph.D cost?
    Thanks,

Maximum tuition and fee deduction in U.S. is $4000 based on Form 1098-T your get from the school. If you not filing U.S. tax return, you do not get any deduction.
