how to put the dog outside without it growling
Hi. My 6 month Maltese x spoodle is quite good and never growls except when I go to put him outside. He stays outside during the day when we are at work but is allowed in the house when we come home. He hates to be put Out and we do that when he's been bad or if we are going to bed or if guests with children come over. Firstly he rolls over onto his back and then if I go to grab him he will growl and will bite if I continue to pick him up. Please help. I can't get him outside sometimes.

If the dog has to stay outside while you are at work or when people come over you really shouldn't also make outside a punishment.
You want to make outside a good thing, not a bad thing.
Try and get him to be excited about going outside by taking him out into the garden and playing ball and giving him treats for a week or so.
You need to nip this behavior in the bud now before it escalates.
Mine wouldn't ever dream of growling at me because they know I am the 'alpha' in my pack, I'm am in charge of THEM not the other way around.
I would suggest taking some obedience classes with your pup. Obedience isn't just about learning tricks, it also helps the dog to understand who is in charge.

Yep a dog who understand more commands is a happier dog and much easier to train!
Is there any reason he HAS to got out side while you guys are at work?
I agree with Shaz on not making outside a punishment for when he has done somethig wrong. Especially when you want him to think that outside is a good thing. Does he have toys and bones out there? I would buy a new toy, get him super excited about this toy, and save it for when you are putting him outside for the day. I am assuming he is in a fenced yard? Is there something out side that is bothering him? Does he have a "rest" area? Shaded area? Fresh water and maybe food out there?

Sounds like your dog is telling you what's what.
And... it sounds like your dog spends too much time outside. I know as the weather begins to get nicer, a lot of dogs get kicked out during the day. Your dog is very young. Something or someone could have scared the dog to the point where he no longer enjoys outside. He may also have gotten too cold/hot/wet.
Dogs are pack animals. They do not enjoy being by themselves days on end. Sounds like you kick him out for everything. And what he is doing sounds like a protest.
How would you feel if your mother kicked you out as a baby ?
