What amount on the closing entries lets you know what the dividends would be?
I am trying to complete a closing entrie and I cannot understand how to get the dividend amount. I need to know how do you get the dividend amount do you multiply a specific number or divide a specific number?

    No need to double post.

If you're just now learning closing entries (say like Ch. 4 or thereabouts), then it should be given and nothing to calculate. Or if it was part of a longer problem, it would simply be sitting in the account. Early on like that, they do not have you "calculate" dividends.

If you are back in a chapter that concentrates on corporations, then it's probably something you had to do earlier in the problem and should have been keeping track of. i.e. if you were doing entries that involved dividends, you have to keep track of the balance in that account.
