    Purchase land contract now I cannot find the owner to complete the sale
    I purchase a duplex on land contract. I still owe a small balance. The owner has allowed the taxes to go into default. I cannot contact him I have sent registered mail and there is no response. How do I close my purchase if I have not been able to contact him for the last three years.

    Have you checked the tax records as to where the tax bill is being sent ?

    If all else fails, you could sue him for title and, if you can persuade the court you can't find him any other way, get permission to serve him by publication. If he doesn't appear you would then get a default judgment, and get title that way.
