My mother and father are still living but they are in their 70's and wish to add my name to the title to so that upon their death the house will be mine without having to pay taxes on inheritance

I believe that you might hurt yourself taxwise, if you are put on the title to your parents' home. You would lose the step-up value of the home as an inheritance. Check with your tax expert, or maybe the Atlanta Tax Expert will see this post. A number of states have created a Beneficiary Deed, that allows automatic transfer of property in the event of the owner's death. Check to see if your parents' state has this.
