    Make and model of the TV and everything you are connecting, then I can give you the best methods of connecting everything.

    Guessing that the TV is an SD CRT, then most likely you will want to use either Component cables or Composite cables. This is a matter of matching colors. Component use three separate cables for video: red, green, blue. Composite use one cable for video: yellow. Both use white and red for your left and right audio (respectively).

    Whatever input you use is up to you. So if you use Video 1 for example, then switch to Video 1 on the TV remote (usually by using a "source" or "input" button).
