Is it better for post-cesarean healing to have weak ab muscles for the cesarean?
Since it is necessary for the physician to move the abdominal muscles out of the way in order to perform a cesarian section, wouldn't it be better if there was less abdominal muscle to move. Granted, it might be better for the woman to have strong abdominal muscles during pregnancy in order to support the extra weight of the fetus -- but if there is less muscle to damage during the cesarean procedure -- wouldn't that be better. I've been working out every day and am planning to get pregnant this year. My abs are weak, and I won't build them up,if I think that building them up before the pregnancy will cause them to be damaged and more difficult to build up afterwards.

Weak abs doesn't mean fewer of them.

A pregnant woman needs strong abs not only for the pregnancy but also for the delivery. Even with a c-section, strong abs pay off during recovery and caring for the newborn.
