    Hi, Pisa4!

In short, a water color will appear to be transparent whereas an oil painting won't. Also, the paint on oil painting will tend to be more vivid in coloration and thicker than that which would be on a watercolor Now, granted there's going to be some exceptions, but those would be the main differences.

Is there a painting that you have in question in your home, please?

    Thanks!

    Hi again, Pisa4!

I merged all of your posts together that were on separate threads to one thread so as to avoid confusion here.

I do hope that you'll return sometime soon to discuss the differences between oil paintings, watercolors and prints!

    It's an excellent subject!

    Thanks!
