    Payroll perdiem
    Hi

    We paid one employee $2000 as perdiem and shwoed it in his w2. Now I have to enter that amount in QB. Where should I enter that amt in QB?

    Please some one let me know.

    It's just an expense like any other expense. What you choose to call it is up to you. If it were me, I'd keep it separated out into another account from salaries.

    I do not know if there's any special tax consequences of this. (From your end, not the employee.) I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be fully deductible as an expense but there could be special rules on per diem - I'm not a tax expert. I don't think you're doing the company taxes, but that's a good reason to keep it separated out, and let your CPA decide what to do with it.
