    Alternator R&R Cutlass
I am looking for info about replacing an alternator of a 1991 Cutlass Supreme 3.4 liter V6 24 valve DOHC engine. Alternator is located under engine on passenger side, above drive axle. I can see it by removing front wheel and rubber water shields. Do I have to remove lower control arm and drive axle?? Looks like an ugly job unless I am missing something. Any help out there??

Replacing the alternator on some front wheel drive cars is nasty. Some require undoing part of the half frame, engine mounts, and removing the main pulley for clearance. In these situations, it's best to take it to the dealer for servicing.
