    CD Drive won't read CDs
It just won't run my reinstallation DVD disc, It seems that it wants to, but then it does not open and lt refuses to read. I have had the problem for a while but It never really bothered me. But that Ineed to a complete clean recovery due to the upgrade of Window 7, whice is recommended. However it does not seem to work. I really need to fix this problem. If anyone has any Ideas or has experienced this, please help me fix it.

It may just be the phrasing of your question, but do you have a CD drive or a DVD drive? CD drives will not read DVD discs. If your drive is actually a DVD drive, then fingerprints/dirt or disc damage might be a factor or the drive may be bad.

I have experienced it before and what happened with my situation is that the disk drive was broken, simple wear and tear, I bought a new one and installed it.

    There are 3 solutions:

    1. Buy a new CD/DVD drive and install it (recommended for a PC)

    2. Take your Hard Drive over to a friends house and ask them if they could install it for you (reccomneded for a PC)

    3. Buy a USB CD/DVD drive and use that to upgrade windows (recommended for laptops)

CD/DVD drive are pretty cheap now a days. They shouldn't set you back that much

    Please keep me updated

Thank you for you help. I am looking into it. Just to let you know, I do have a CD/DVD drive on my laptop. Also, It just won't run my reinstallation DVD disc for Window Vista. But any how I am going to back-up my files unto a usb flash drive. And hope this will take care of the problem.

    Thanks again
