I need advice on a crazy roommate
I have 1 kitten and my roomie has 2 cats. She has her litterbox in her huge room, and I unfortuantly have too have my box in my small room. Awhile ago when I left for work/school I would close my door so none of her cats could eat my kitty food.( they are on a special diet ). And our cats would just use her cats box. And for a bit before they bacame comfy with each other the cats used their own boxes. Recently my roomie has started opeing my door so my cat could get in, we her cats use the litter box ( she puts up my cats food so hers can't get it OK fine), but I am the one with the chore of cleaning out twice a day not a lot in the morning but at least a good 10ish puonds of yuckiness form my box. I am the only one cleaning and paying for the litter. I asked her about borrowing litter once and she said you, but not a lot, I don't have tons of cash. OK I said. I also mentioned that it would be cheaper for us to maybe have a communal kitty box and each take turns cleaning and buying a box of littler. She said no. she also said that's why she keeps her door open is so they can use her kitty box, I don't think she gets that her cats use the one they are closet too and that unfortuantly is mine( my room is down the hall and closer to the living room where the cats hang out)

So what am I supposed to do? Ask her to keep my door closed and bring the water from my room so the cats can drink, and deny my cat access to use its own box? And let her see how much turd accumilates through the day? It makes my room stink. I am very good about cleaning it everyday so it won't stink, but it does no matter what. I have a spot under the sink in the bathroom that a coworker suggested I put it in there and see what happens, but my thought is her cats will figure it out, and yet again I will be footing the bill and doing all the work.

I don't know what to do??

I think you should talk to your roommate again. Perhaps both of you can move the litter boxes into the living room or bathroom. If she doesn't listen you could get rid of the litter box in your room so all the cats use your room mate's litter box. I'm sure she wouldn't want to clean 10 lbs of poo either. After she notices how much she has to clean maybe she will be willing to work something out. Oh and don't tell her about how you are getting rid of the box in your room until she notices all the poo acculuating. ;)

Talk to her and tell her what's in it for her.

You'll be able to share the costs and the cleaning and your bedrooms won't stink. It'll be cheaper and less smelly.

I would have thought she'd jump at the chance.

Hide the box in your room before you go out.
Just sit it up high somewhere and tell your roomie that you "Forgot to put it back on the floor" if she happens to find it.

Then all 3 cats will be using the one in her room.
