    What's considered abandoment
OK... I have custody of my 9 and 11 year old boys. Their biological mother has not seen them in almost 5 years. The 9 year old is not biologically mine, however I've fathered him his entire life. I'm wondering what abandonment laws are in Ohio so that I can legally adopt my son! As of now she hasn't even spoken to the boys in over 6months and has sent 1 email in the last 60 days! What would be my best movein dealing with this situation?

What type of custody do you have? Was the non bio child from a marriage? Are you by law his guardian ? Is is mom or both parents paying child support?

If you want to adopt get an attorney. You will need one to prepare the adoption papers. The attorney can advise what you need to do to get a TPR.
