My Dad and I watched an old horror movie on TV when I was a kid. It was black and white and the only really vivid scene I remember is that a lady was in a bedroom of an old mantion and the "thing" was coming up the hall to get her, as it got to her room the door started to bend inwards and outwards, like it was breathing. I think there was also a huge maze in the grounds of the mantion ,and at night a light flowed through it. I hope Im not confusing memories! I'd love some help, my dad passed away recently and watching great old movies together was a joy we shared. Thank you.

The bit with the door bending inwards sounds like The Haunting, not sure about the maze though...

Make sure you get the original (1963 I think), the remake with Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta Jones is terrible.

Yes it is 1963, I looked it up and am buying a dvd I found ! I don't mind if it's not the movie I was after as I've started collecting the classic oldies now anyway.Thank you for your help : )
