Can you be garnished if you receive foodstamps, medicaid, or TANF
Can the courts put a wage garnishment on you if you receive help from the Department of Family and Children services. Examples of help is SNAPS, mediciad, and TANF.

If your income falls below the federal poverty line or if a garnishment would cause your income to do so, they will not take your money. However, you need to notify the court of this - they don't know what your income is and they'll grant the garnishment if they have no reason to believe it's causing financial harm.
