    How to build commercial deck
    I own a apartment building, I do all my own fixes and I am very handy. I need to know where I can find how to fix the deck for 2nd floor walkway.

    To copy the project like it has been would be the simplest way.That item was accepted by the building codes or you wouldn't be approved for apartments.

    Contacting the building inspector and submitting your fix can be prudent or not, I have had mixed results in dealings with local inspectors in the past.

    If you aren't changing the structure, say the support system, or if you are only changing what is there for newer (same thicknesses and width,etc)I would steer clear of the inspectors, again,if it was up to code then,it will most likely be up to code now.

    Hello KBC, Thank you very much for quick response. I have some deck that was done according to building code, but it is in need of repair in several areas. I wanted to know if there is any place I can find step by step process of fixing it. I know there are serveral materials used like plywood, wire mash, fiber glass mixture, water resistance paint etc. But I am not aware of proper process to cut the damanged area and fix it with new material.

    I will appreciate if you will be able to guide me in right direction.

    So this isn't a wooden deck then,it's concrete?
