OK so here is a brief introduction to te on-going drama in our lives, my husband and I were granted custody of his 3 1/2 yr old son 2 and a half yrs ago, his mother abused and neglected him and chose her drugs over him, she was ordered to rehab 3 times and still to this day hasn't gone, she was granted supervised visitation, monthly and hasn't seen him in a year and a half. She has now moved out of the state where we reside(arizona),she hasn't notified the court of this either. So my question is since there is a clear sign of abandonment, how easy would it be for me and my husband to be granted termination of her parental rights? She has lost custody of her 9 yr old daughter, and guardianship of her 6 yr old son as well. Please help in anyway you can thank you, we just want what's best for him,all of a sudden now she wants to act like we are the bad guys and keeping her from him, after all this time of not seeing him.

Its still not going to be easy. You will still need to attempt go get her to relinquish. If she refuses it will make it difficult. The only way its likely to be granted is if you agree to adopt.

Since you really need to retain an attorney to process the adoption, you should consult one who can tell you what yoyu need to do.
