The rash can be a side effect. It's described as the flush/rash seen when niacin is taken by someone who is sensitive to the product.

I thought glutathione was to boost the immune system, not to lighten skin. Is that a side effect I'm not finding?

Thanks!. but as far as I can see, in the ingredients portion of the bottle, there is no niacin content in the product.

... and secondly, I really have no idea how to get rid of this itch.

Thanks so much, at least I'm beginning to see light on this rashes. : )

I didn't mean there was niacin in the capsules. I meant that the flush/rash is SIMILAR to that of someone allergic or sensitive to niacin.

Have you tried Benadryl or something similar to give you some relief? Of course, I ALWAYS recommend that you consult with a Physician before taking any over the counter product.

I am very sensitive to Vitamin B and always get a reaction - go figure!

Never had an adverse reaction, but honestly over taking anything must do something to ones body.
I know there antioxidants, but in all honest truth should anything be taken in such large amounts.
You say you see light? Light skin? Light patches or do you mean EUREKA! You see light.

I think suffered the same. I took up glutathione for two months in order to boost my immunity and to detoxify. The regimen prescribed in the bottle was 2 capsules a day. I did not notice anything suspicious until the time I stopped using the product. The rashes started in my skin folds (from behind my knee, then to the underside of elbows and then it spread out). The rashes looked like ones with tiny blisters and it was really very itchy. I went to the doctor and he gave me some steroids and anti-histamine. But the prescription only made it worse. So I stop the medication. Took lots of water everyday and avoided some foods that I observed made my case worse like poultry and shrimp. I rested from work and stayed at home. In order to not feel scratchy, I stayed in my room with icy temperature with only my underwear on. (sweating then was hell as it tends to aggravate the itchiness). My doctor(who is not really good and I think he was just treating me like a guinea pig) prescribed a broad spec antibiotic (forgot the name). I honestly had second thoughts about taking it but I tried it anyway. I am not sure if the antibiotic worked or it's just the course of the rashes, but that my rashes dried up slowly and flaked. A couple of weeks later it was all good. The rashes did not recur. Five months after I still have scars but it's fading now.

Looking back at it now, I feel so stupid and thankful. I thought I was in for a serious illness already. I read up a lot of articles about rashes and skin conditions. I even did my own prognosis. I observed how I reacted to each medication and food that I ate. Thank God everything worked out.

Just sharing this hoping that it will help you.
