I dream someone is in the house. Not human but only when I'm alone trying to get me.
I have what I believe to be sleep paralysis. I often feel as though I'm awake (I know I am) and can't get up can't open my eyes, and there is always someone in the room, someone holding me down, I see shadows through my eyelids and I hear very faint sounds and voices. I also have nightmares that someone is in the house, now more than ever. I never see the person until now. I just had a dream that my boyfriend left me home alone. I was in the bathroom and could hear the car pull away. I had a funny feeling come over me and I locked the bathroom door. I could hear someone in the house. I called him to ask if he left and he said that he had. I then kept hearing the noises. Someone walking up and down the steps coming closer to the door, running... and usually this goes no farther, but this time, the person came to the door. And though the door was locked the lock seemed more like a chain lock and I was holding it closed and the person was pushing it open and I tried to stab at them with a toothbrush in the face and they didn't respond, scream nothing...

When I'm awake and home alone, I sometimes feel I'm not alone. I don't feel the house is haunted but sometimes I feel plagued by this... I can't get past it and I'm starting to feel crazier and crazier. I can't let my boyfriend leave the house without me now. I am waking up early to leave the house when he does because I'm terrified to be home alone. I'm terrified to come home by myself, I'm terrified to go to sleep. Please help me, I don't know what to do.

Something you could try is run a video camera and a tape recorder while you sleep. That way you can verify that nothing is going on and you can bring yourself back to reality.

I am sooo scared! My b/f says that I have a lot of rapid eye movement which I don't understand how it connects, but I'm literally plagued by this. Its affecting how I live.
