    Ge water heater won't light
Hey guys, I need help fast. I've no hot water in the past two days. I have GE water heater that won't light. The gas man told me to wait a couple of days so the unit can dry out (rain water somehow got inside of the unit). I followed the directions on lighting it however all I see is a small spark when I hit ignite and no flame after. I want to remove the cover with the small glass so I can dry/inspect the burner but it says that I have to replace the seal if I do so. Do I have to replace the seal and what do you think the problem is? Thank you in advance for your response.

I got a strange one. My pilot light won't stay lit on my water heater. I can get it lit from the button override and then it goes out. Sounds like the thermocouple right? My water heater is located in my attic. After Katrina, I had to repair my damaged roof and it seems that the attic fan went out. Since then my water heater pilot light has repeatedly gone out. I can re-light it usually, but the lack of air up in the attic causes the light to go out. Presently,...
