What is a special waranty deed?
My grandmother gave me a Special Warranty Deedfor some property ten years ago, at the time I didn't think much of it, (young and dumb) I filed it and when I was looking in my files I came across it. Was I to do something other than put it in a drawer? She signed it and had a stamped from a notary. Is this the same as giving me the title to the lot

Yes, she gave you the title to the lot. You need to have it recorded in the county clerk or county register's office in order to make the transfer fully effective.
