How do I know my girlfriend truly loves me?
I'm Martins from Nigeria. I'll be 22 on October 24th. I've known her for 8 months 2 weeks now, and all the time I've spent with her, I've tried as much as possible to explain to her how I feel about her but she seems to like to be more occupied with fantasies than with the thoughts of me. The funny thing about us is that she listens while I bare my heart to her, but acts strange the minute she steps out of our company. I made her through the best ways I can, to understand that I truly love her; I TRULY DO. I occasionally think of taking her to the altar. Though I sometimes refer to our future together, I wasn't yet specific to her on marriage stuff.
On her own side she says that she feels for me too. She said she loves me from the depth of her heart.

Recently, we closed for the semester at school and she traveled to north to see her parents. She used to stay over there and had over the years dated about 3 guys (according to her). But if I should believe her, she doesn't have anything to do with them again. I believed because, most times when we are together, maybe walking the streets or in an outing, she would occasionally give me her cellular phone to hold for her. Most times, she had forgotten to collect it before going home. I would be holding the phone for about a whole day plus; but surprisingly there wouldn't be any call from a guy.

To cut the story short, she feels for me as I came to understand but has some sort of nonchalant attitude towards me. She does not even send me SMS compared to huge bulk of SMS I send to her. She does not care about this. BUT SHE LOVES ME... or IS IT PRETENSE, maybe to play along?

PLEASE HELP 'CAUSE I TRULY LOVE HER AND WOULD LOVE TO BE WITH HER FOREVER.

    Thanks for your timely advice.

The reality is that true love takes time and if it's there I think you'll feel it. Talk to her, let her know how she feels and ask her how she feels about the whole relationship thing and take it from there. When you are with someone the only way to find out how they are feeling is to ask them and listen carefully to the answer.
