    Supply Pipes Under Pedestal Sink
I'm installing a new pedestal sink. How close to the wall do I cut the copper supply stub outs? I would like to make it as attractive as possible by coming close to the wall, but don't want to burn down the house in the process.

    Thanks - Dennis

You can cut it so that your fitting will be practically at the line of the wall. The trick will be to use a shield against the wall when soldering it... like this:

If the drywall isn't up yet, I would solder a male pipe adapter on almost flush with where it will be and screw a chrome angle stop directly on to it. If you already have a copper tube coming through the wall, it is going to be tricky soldering a pipe adapter on to it close to the wall. You might look at the epoxy made for joining copper pipe. You could even slip the adapter into the wall around the tubing.

Pedestal sink has poor aesthetic [ 4 Answers ]

The pedestal sink was finally installed and it looks terrible. Entering the bathroom from the hallway the pedestal hardly conceals the drain line; can anything be done at this point or do I have to remove it and settle for a vanity with a drop in sink.

Mishap in replacing supply valve under sink [ 3 Answers ]

I was replacing the supply valves under my new bathroom sink as the old ones had old fashioned metal connectors that wouldn't work. The old supply valves had a soldered on metal pipe right behind the knob, and I now realize (too late) that that was what I needed to unscrew (probably by cutting off...

The set-up from kitchen sink leading down to drain to basement: 1. Kitchen sink - (R side) - connected to a P drain I think you call it -PVC-, connected to a "metal" T, which has a Studer vent gizmo attached to the top of it, then draining into a metal pipe straight down to the drain in the...

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some advice! My wife and I just moved in to a 1984 home. The other day, after peeling some potatoes in the sink, the water began backing up. After investigating, I was able to find the potato skins clogged up in the pipe just before it went back in to...
