    Lowest thermostat temperature range
I have heat, hot water baseboards, in my cellar and I do not want to heat it anymore. The thermostat only goes to 55. I would like to shut it off, if possible, or set the temperature as low as I can.

You can get a lower range thermostat, or simply unhook the existing thermostat(this will cuase that zone to never turn on). Make sure you either have antifreeze in the system, or that the temp in that area never drops below freezing, as the pipes for your baseboards will freeze and burst.

A/C thermostat temperature spread [ 1 Answers ]

I would like to know the recommended temp spread on a digital A/C thermostat. I believe it to be three (3) degrees. My son has one which he says is set for one (1) degree. Isn't that a too tight spread setting? I would think it would cause the A/C to operate too much of the time.
