What are these very tiny white things I keep finding in my clothing,
I too would like to know what these lint balls with a tiny white speck inside is suddenly doing on and in all of my family's clothing? 1 year ago is when this started for me and my family,I wash and wash and add lots of extra stuff in my washer to try and kill the problem. It sometimes does work on some clothing, but not all the clothes depending on the type of clothing material.Even when I manage to kill most of them in an idem of clothing, once I fold and put away in dresser, and take out to ware a few days later there back again. It's frustrating to us all and the washing and re-washing is raising our power bill.Just like others out there we have no money to pay our power bill and are needing assistance. Also this whole thing is stressful on all members of family,I have grown very afraid of parasites and other people who I think may be caring them. However I have now come to the conclusion that the problem is my home.In the walls, ceilings, floors etc.We now plan to move and if all goes well should be out by feb28-10.There is lots of molds in our home, also water damage from former tenants. One year out of the 5 we have lived here, our bedroom ceiling had collasped and part fell to the floor.I think these things have drawn up these pest and the mold. Now I only worry about caring them to our new home when we find one. This is a bad issue for me and my family as far as the parasites go I am seeing a consular for what was first thought of as my problem.I feel for others who are truly affected by these things, there are some people who just don't get bothered by these and couldn't care less. Also we do get red bumps on our skin and a biting and stinging feeling from our clothing quite a bit and often the ichy.Does anyone have a for sure true answer to what are the white speck in our clothing that too are causing holes in some?

Many people have reported similar problems. Quite a few have turned out to be fungus related, such as molds. In fabrics and stored products, the best way to get rid of fungi is to dry them. Washing machines add moisture, what you want to do is remove it.

If it's summer where you are hanging clothing out on a line does a better job than a tumble dryer of getting as much moisture out as possible. It's possible the UV in sunlight will help kill them, too.
