Hi, This is my 1st post so TY for any help. I'm in Calif. & wondering if there's a way to maintain the Prop 13 property tax level if a child inherits a house. There is a trust & I'm there only child inheriting the home. Thanks for any help, db

My fiancé is hesitant to add my name to his house title because he thinks it will cause him to lose the benefits of prop 13 (we are in California). He currently pays very low taxes and wants to keep it this way. Is this true and if so, is there any way around this?
Individual Estmated Tax deadline

Is there a penalty for not sending in the ES payment in time? i.e. for 2nd qtr 2007, the deadline is June 15th, which I totally missed :) Considering that this is just an estimated, as long as I include enough $ in the payment, it should be OK?

My ex & I sold our home during our divorce in 2005. On my Schedule A, do I have a right to claim one half of the mortgage interest and property taxes paid during the time we owned it?
