Pain after having a temporary crown
I had a root canal done (for the same time on the second tooth) and had a crack in that tooth. I had a temporary crown put on and was supposed to get the permanent one on but due to several circumstances I had to postpone it for 6 months. I hae an apt. in a week but just started feeling some tightness on that tooth and maybe occasionally a dull pain but only when I think about it, so that just might be because I'm focusing on it. Does ths sound normal?

A temporary crown is not meant to last 6 months. Let the dentist know what you've been feeling so he/she can take an x-ray before cementing the permanent crown on. You want to be sure the infection at the root tips is completely gone.

Hi! Thanks for replying. I went into the dentist and they put the permanent crown on today. The didn't do an x-ray.. but there was no pain or sensitivty, even when they took the temporary one off. They said they would have been able to tell if there was an infecton, even if I couldn't feel it.

If the tooth isn't giving you any problem now then leave well enough alone. Glad to hear the problem is solved! :)
